This is the first novella in the Ridgeway Rescue Mystery series. It introduces us to Colby, Emma, and Emma's dad as well as two very awesome dogs! After reading the others, I couldn't wait to jump into this one as well!

The Good: Emma is a bit...well, flighty...but she's a total sweetheart and far more observant than I will ever be! Colby is strong and responsible and you just know there's a backstory there that you want to dive into!

The Bad: I read this out of order so this was the last one that I read and I was sad to discover there were only three so far. I can't wait for more!

The Summary: This is a great series by a very talented author. Yes, they're short but that just makes you want them more! They're perfect for those days where you're stuck sitting around, waiting for something. Pick them up and enjoy!

If you've read my reviews of Pauline's writing before, you already know how much I enjoy her work. I kind of want to be her when I grow into my writer's shoes!

The Good: Another quick read that was perfect for a slightly chilly afternoon. I read this series out of order but it didn't matter. They all work great as standalones. The characters are engaging and the story keeps moving right along. I swear that Emma is the non-ocd version of Monk with her observation skills!

The Bad: Yep, still got nothing when it comes to this series.

The Summary: Another fantastic piece to this series! I love how you can read each one as a standalone or as part of the ongoing story arc. I honestly cannot recommend these more if you're looking for a cozy mystery to while away an hour or two.

It's St. Patrick's Day and 20-year-old Emma Wright is working hard at training five-month-old Molly, her foster puppy, to become a therapy dog. But her training coach and neighbor gets an emergency call, cutting the lesson short, and Emma volunteers to pick up her daughter at a St. Patrick's Day concert in town.

When Emma arrives, the concert has just finished up, and the teenage girls are visiting with the band. Then the lead singer stumbles and falls to the ground, dead. Emma becomes the only level head in the crowd and calls for help. When the Sheriff and Colby arrive, they investigate it as a potential accident. But Emma finds subtle clues that something more sinister is going on. Did the leader of the band die in an accident, or was it murder?

It's been a long time since I read anything by Pauline Creeden and I can't believe that I didn't look up more of her work sooner! This is actually the third in the Ridgeway Rescue Mysteries series but the first one I read since I found it on St. Patrick's Day.

The Good: This cover! How could you not fall in love with that pup? I have a serious soft spot for huge, fluffy dogs and I miss having one. This isn't about me though! This is about a very well written novella filled with enjoyable characters and one very observant main character that I hope gets everything she wants!

The Bad: Umm...Yep, I got nothin'.

The Summary: If you're a fan of cute, cozy mysteries that won't take you hours or days to get through, you're going to want to check out this series by Pauline Creeden. Personally, I'm going to be stalking her mailing list and Facebook group to find out when the next one in this series is going to be released!

I'm so excited! Today is the official release day for Sarah's Journal! Sarah's Journal picks up where None Good ends and continues throughout most of Except One. Now everyone can read about how Sarah is handling all of the crazy that keeps happening to her and learn more about what happens to her and to her friends.

I wrote this during NaNo 2017 while I was also doing the final work on Except One and I have to confess that I love how it came out. Sometimes you start to write something and everything just seems to connect. That's how "the journal" was for me. Then, I handed it over to Nick and he created this amazing cover. I had no idea what I wanted and somehow, he created something beyond my imagination that's just perfect for this book.

As if having a new book with a stunning cover out isn't enough, this is also my first solo piece in The Tether Saga. That's my name, all by itself, on that cover and every time I see it, I grin ear to ear.

We all know that I love this series and that nine times out of ten, I simply gush over each one as I read it. Nothing new here then. I loved this one. The story is great. The characters are great. The writing is great and if the publisher doesn't do a third year of these, I'm going to be very sad. These are the perfect "guilty pleasure" for a quiet afternoon.

Just two weeks ago, you read about how much I love this series and now I'm back and telling you that this book was only middling for me. I felt as if the characters never truly matured. April also seemed unrealistically naive. Also, while the story was fun, it didn't feel inspiring (which is often the theme with these novellas) and it ended rather abruptly. Usually I walk away from these books with a smile, but this one I walked away just not feeling confident that Jack and April have any real chance for a forever type relationship.

Does anyone remember how much I loved this series last year? Well, if you do, you won't be surprised to hear that I'm really enjoying it again this year. Novellas are a great way to get a bit of reading in without it taking up the whole day. This particular book was filled with great characters and great writing. I loved how the bridal shop staff was like a family and they brought Tara into that. Tara and Greg themselves were well written and like many novellas, it left me wanting more...

Janice Thompson never fails to deliver when it comes to fun, humor and sweet romance. That is very much the case in the latest Year of Weddings novella. I loved the characters in this book, from sweet Mari to handsome Derrick and everyone in between. I feel like I absolutely gushed over this series last year and I'm doing it again this year, but I just can't help it. I'm a sucker for a well written romance and Janice Thompson has never let me down.

Ahhh! It's back! You guys know I loved, loved, loved this series last year and I am so excited to see it back. Oddly enough, I'm reviewing it through a completely different outlet this time around, but I don't care! I love the fine folks that I get to work with and I love them even more since they brought this novella to my attention.

Now, looking at the book description above, I can imagine that you're all thinking something along the lines of, "But what is this book really about?"  I thought the same thing. It's about a girl..who meets a boy...hehe... Seriously, it's about this woman named Ginger, who like most of us, is somehow wounded by her past, including our main male. They meet again and it's time to find out if they can put the past in the past, heal and move towards the future. I'm not going to give any spoilers, but I will say that this novella is full of real turmoil and has characters that you'll find some small piece of yourself in. It is a Christian novella and you will see that in this novella. However, it isn't so in your face that, if you don't share those beliefs, it will get in the way of your enjoyment of the story.

Summary? The characters are relatable, the novella actually has really good closure, unlike some, and I'm already hoping to review the remainder of this year's series.

I've had the delight in reviewing books by at least two of these authors in the past so when I saw that they had come together to write, I couldn't resist putting my name down to review and I am so glad that I gave in to temptation. Each story, in this book, has its own feel and yet, without a doubt, these three authors did an amazing job of tying their stories in with each other. By the time that you reach the end, this family feels as if they're your neighbors. Set during WWII, it shows just how tough times back home were while still showing you the love and hope that shined forth. If you're looking for a holiday read that is broken into the perfect pre-bedtime cuddle with a book, this one will keep you reading while still leaving you with enough energy to read the next novella the following night. Or, you could be like me and grab a blanket and a mug of something yummy and curl up on the couch for a bit of a holiday reading binge. Either way, you won't regret it.

I am completely adoring this series of novellas. I swear that as soon as I'm handed one, I've devoured it in a couple of hours. They're all really easy reads and as someone who can't resist a bit of romance, they've certainly not let me down. I loved every moment of this book. I loved how Ellie and Gray met and I loved how he encouraged her to be strong, even though he sometimes came across as a bit of a bully about it. My favorite character? Certainly not Ellie's mom...but the pastor at the church where Ellie sneaks in to do some gardening. If you haven't read this one yet, pick it up and find out just how sweet he really is.
