Just before the first of the year, Justin and I got to talking about ebooks and he asked me how many I had on the iPad. The honest to goodness truth is, I haven't the first clue. I have both iBooks and the Kindle app on there and between the two, it's probably well over 1,000. Typically amused by my never ending pile of reading material, Justin has challenged me to read through all of the books in iBooks before the end of 2012. Out of my ever loving mind, I took him up on the challenge. The only way I can get out of reading the book is if I've already read the iBooks version.  Keep your eyes open as I (probably semi-frequently) keep an updated list of the books I've read so far:

Wow, what a crazy week this has been. Today was the boys' last day of film camp. They had a great time but boy, were they exhausted by the time we got home at night. Luckily, they actually finished up 2 hours early today so we could be home by about 6pm. Granted, we would have been anyway, but by doing it this way, they had to go grocery shopping with me. mwahahahaha..hehe

So, what did I do today? I knocked things off of my to do list. That's what I did. It gives me great pleasure to be able to cross things off of that list. Plus, I got to spend/enjoy one last day at the library. I love libraries. I love to watch the people there. I love to be surrounded by so many books. It's just such a great atmosphere. Plus, I was lucky enough to snag a couple more really good books off of their free giveaway book carts. Yay! Of course, I can't really start reading any of them until I finish the first Snookie Snackcake (Sookie Stackhouse) book. I still can't make up my mind if I like it or not. It's the weirdest feeling.

Oh well. That's the way it goes, I guess. (Though it's never happened to me before.) I'm off to put a star on my calendar for finishing all 4 bottles of my water today! Yay! If you don't know what I'm talking about, check out our weightloss blog.

Whew! What a busy day. I worked at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore from 9-2pm. I was only supposed to work until 1 but they were busy and the usual 1-5 guy couldn't be there so I said I'd stay over. I really enjoy working there. I'm hoping that I can still work sometimes over the summer. It would really be nice if I could find a job like that where I got paid.

After I picked them up, I did a quick scramble through the grocery store and then, it was time to get the boys. Yay! I love our time together. I know that life hasn't been very fair to them in some areas but they've done so well with the changes and they really are such good kids.

One bonus to me going to Canada was the short shopping trip for groceries. It made unloading the van tons and tons easier and it sure as heck cut down on the fighting about getting it unloaded. The boys and I had chili dogs as a special treat and just enjoyed the evening together until bedtime. Then, it was a couple of chapters of Percy Jackson and bedtime for the boys.

So, what did I finish? Well, the week, I guess. There wasn't really any time to finish off anything else. That's ok, though. I know that there's always plenty of finishing to be done but sometimes you just have to enjoy what you have.

Has anyone else noticed that this summer has seemed to just fly by? I feel like I just moved a couple of weeks ago and suddenly I realized that it's been two months! I ought to be frustrated that this house isn't in tip top totally unpacked shape by now, but I'm not. I've had a fun summer enjoying time with my boys, working part time and just remembering how to enjoy life. We've unpacked some boxes and we have more to go. They'll get done. I'm not worried about that at all. In fact, I need to take some pictures today and hopefully by next week, I'll be posting some "look what we got done" pictures here to the blog.
But for now, it's Thursday. Thursday means taking time out to say what can I do to make me feel special today? Well, yesterday I managed to get one of my bookshelves into position which reminded me that it's been a while since I just got to relax and spend an hour or so with a good book. So, that's my plan for today. I may pull out the History of Ireland or another book that I spotted when hauling stuff around yesterday. Either way, I have a date with a good book and maybe a nice glass of something tasty to drink.

I didn't forget, I swear! Ok, it did slip my mind. The boys and I got busy today and we unpacked 5 more boxes in the kitchen -- 2 boxes of cookbooks (all shelved) and 3 boxes of my wine glasses, crystal candle holders and such. They've been in storage for 2 years and desperately all need to be washed. Eewwww. Then, we took about a dozen boxes out to the garage and got them stored away. I made the mistake of telling the neighbor boy that him and his buddy could sweep out the "attic" portion of my garage/barn. Ugh! We went out there today and they swept all that mess down onto the floor of the garage. They also threw down anything they'd found up there which included a bunch of just garbge. Before the summer is out, I can tell we're going to have to have a garage cleaning day where we organize everything and put anything that's trash out for our trash man and freecycle/craigslist anything that might be worth anything. Yuck! As if we don't have enough work to do inside the house, eh?

We also got a box in the mail that had some surprises for all of us. I do so love happy mail and there were comics inside for the boys which they loved. They're really getting into those kinds of things and I love it because it encourages their creativity and their reading.

Speaking of reading, that's my Just For Me thing today. Inside the box was a copy of the book 'Tis by Frank McCourt. I read Angela's Ashes a good year ago and had been wanting to read this one, but never really had the money to pick up a copy. So later on today, once the kids are bathed (Thursday is bath night round here much to their dismay.) and all tucked into bed, instead of spending time working on unpacking more, I'm going to curl up with something nummy to drink and what promises to be a great book.
