Tackle It Tuesday

1:31 PM 0 Comments
It's Tuesday and thank goodness, the weather has changed for the better! I've already moved all of the planters off of my kitchen table and out to the back porch. Thank goodness for that! Trying to keep the cats out of them was becoming more of a challenge then I wanted to deal with. They're usually good critters but those planters were more than they could resist!

Speaking of things you can't resist (nice segue, eh?), I heard of an opportunity to write a Going Green guest post on another fabulous blogger's blog and I jumped at it! It went live yesterday and I can't believe that I forgot to tell you about it. If y'all want to check it out, and I totally encourage you to do so, head on over to Parenting By Dummies and check out the blog post written by yours truly!

There, I think I've caught all of you up on everything. I told you about my radio show yesterday and about my guest blog post today. I don't think much of anything else is really going on so that just leaves me writing about today's tackle.

Laundry. The never ending mountain of laundry that is always waiting for me to get it washed, dried, folded, hung up and put away. Well, today I'm going to try to get through the large basketful that is living in my bathroom. This will open up the rest of my bathroom to being cleaned and I can finally get in there and scrub it down properly. It always amuses me that even if the rest of my house is a total disaster, my bathroom will be clean. Having this basket of laundry in there has been driving me nuts!

Now, since it's a gorgeous day outside, I won't be at all surprised if I tackle a few other areas. There's just something about warm (not hot) sunny days that seem to fill me with energy and motivation. I won't complain, I'll just take advantage of that!

I'm off to take some tylenol (woke up with a blinding headache that I'm stubbornly ignoring) and toss in a load of laundry!

Tackle it Tuesday - Laundry Monster

2:02 PM 3 Comments
Happy Tuesday all! Hopefully you're having a nice warm sunny day unlike here. I love Autumn, but has anyone else noticed that the dreary days just seem colder even if they're not?

So I'm a little sad to say that a few of my regular commenters seem to have vanished. I'm going to have to head over to their blogs and give them some pokes..loving pokes, of course. Kath and nickle, where the heck are you girls? Kath could be entirely busy with prepping for her new radio show that's on TrainREK on Sunday nights. I haven't had the chance to listen to it yet, but I bet it's great. As soon as I get a link to their website, I'll be sure to post it. I believe it's of a geeky nature, so those who like geek stuffs will probably love it.

As for me, I'm busy doing laundry. I totally confess that I let it get away from me and now I'm working on catching up again. In the process, I've also redone how the boys clothes are stored here at the house. Their soon'ish to be stepmother seemed a bit overly concerned that I send a new shirt back on Sunday, so I've decided to inventory their clothes here to see if I even need for them to send clothes over here. It turns out that I really don't. Granted, I'm going to need to find them some more jeans and some heavier shirts, but not having her send clothes over rules out any clothing issues that she might come up with. So, I think I'll put the call out here...if anyone has any size 8-10 clothing that their sons have outgrown and you're looking for a new home, please think of me. I can't afford much but I could probably at least pay for the shipping on it.

So what are all of you doing? Is your laundry all caught up? If so, have you gone through it to remove outgrown/worn out items? I challenge all of you to do that. :)

Finish It Friday

11:37 AM 1 Comments
It's Friday again! This summer has flown by way too fast. Next week will be the boy's last week here until they're off on Christmas holidays. It's going to be so weird not waking up every morning and hearing their voices. I much prefer when I have them during the week and their dad has them every other weekend. School is starting up on the 9th though and that means they need to be back there. At least I'll be far more active in their school this year. I wonder if they're looking for a teacher's aide or anything like that...

Anyway, no more melancholy. It's Friday and that means I need to look around and finish a task that I've been needing to get done and I haven't..and I know just the one. My bedroom. When I started trying to catch up on all the laundry and things that had gotten damaged in the not so waterproof basement apartment, I neglected to get them all put away. So, they've been sitting here stacked (and then not so stacked as kids/cat came through). Today, I'm going to try to find the time to put some of it away where it belongs.

What do you have out that needs to be put away? I challenge you to put it away..clear space makes for nice clear minds!

Tackle It Tuesday - Laundry Continued

12:57 PM 1 Comments
I can hear it now..but you did laundry last week, all last week! Yep, I did and while I titled this laundry, it is slightly different. I'm not lugging baskets down to the laundry room and back up. All those baskets..and all their contents are in my bedroom. Well, that's not quite accurate. Most of the towels were put away and most of the boys' clothes as well. What's left are all of my clothes and all of the bedding. So, what's the challenge? Sorting it all and getting it put away. While folding all of these things, I realized I probably have more than I need in certain areas. Like, really, how many sets of sheets do you need for one bed? Me? I know that I folded at least 3 sets of flannels (I'm sorry, but a necessity if you live in the North) and there are 3 other sets folded and put away. So, do I need the probably 6-7 other sets of sheets? Probably not. I think the same probably goes for my clothes. I won't do a count but I swear there's at least 7-10 pairs of jeans. Umm..I only have one body, folks. I wish sometimes there were more of me..like 3-4, to tackle everything. Then again, sometimes I wish there were less of me..like 50-100 pounds less of me. Can't win, I s'pose..lol!

So, there you have it. That's today's challenge. Fold, sort, put away and/or give away all of the things I spent all of last week washing. It's a big task, but I'm willing to take it on. How about all of you?

Tackle It Tuesday - Laundry!

1:50 PM 2 Comments

Wow, my blogging skills are rusty! I'm still not sure that I got this image in correctly. I might have to go back and tweak it. It is tough though to focus when one of your children is on your bed growling at the other one. Geez! It's no wonder it sometimes takes me ages to get anything done. Right now, I'm trying to write this post, play War with the youngest and make sure he and his brother don't kill one another. Talk about multi-tasking!

So welcome back to Tackle It Tuesday! I'm going to be focusing on laundry this week. Oh my gosh, I have so much laundry to do! That apartment was mold and mildew city and I'm trying to save what I can. I can't show pictures yet because my "good" laptop is bluescreening and that's how I download my camera. I am taking pictures though and will post them as soon as I unpack my camera cable. What are you doing? I can't wait to hear! Post me a comment and/or head over to 5minutesformom.com and post to their Mr Linky there!
